Here is an old trick from the custom countertop manufacturers that will help with the &quot;tricky part&quot;. When the contact cement on the substrate is just past tacky, place smooth wooden dowels on the surface, roughly 12&quot; apart.  The distance between dowels depends on the stiffness of the laminate.  The dowels need to be longer than the substrate, preferably 8-12&quot; longer.  Place the laminate on top of the dowels, glue side down.  Make final positioning adjustments.  Remove the middle dowel, pressing and rolling the corkbord into the plywood.  Work toward each end to avoid trapping air under the cork.</description>
